Maltodextrin (Molasses) is a carbohydrate similar in properties to starch and glucose. It is made from corn starch by hydrolysis with enzymes or acids. It dissolves well in water.

Maltodextrin is a polysaccharide and a common ingredient in a variety of foods. Due to its ability to form a thick and airy texture, it is used in the production of baked goods, ice cream, low-fat yoghurts and various sauces - as well as in baby food.

In the food industry, maltodextrin, the composition of which contains glucose, is used as a sweetener, thickener, antioxidant, moisture absorber, baking powder, emulsifier. These properties are necessary to prepare chips, sausages, baked goods, dressings and sauces, yoghurts and ice cream, and chocolate bars. Also, this food supplement can be found in sports and baby food.
